Ressurection

Is your life Shut in, Entombed, by some rock bound grief,
or Crushed by some stony pain? Is your heart like a stone?

Bring it all to Jesus,
He is the Lilly of the Valley, The Rose of Sharon
The Flower that shatters the Rock:


Gentle Jesus meek and mild, Come and heal this hurting child;
Make thine alabaster balm, Soothe her heart with Heavens calm;

Free that one enslaved to care,And take from him that yoke he bears;
Make thy life spring up within, And shatter chains of hurt and sin.

Resistless Spring of Life Divine,Come burst this rock and make me thine;
Be thou the flower of my heart,Spring up and fill me every part;

Til all these broken shards of stone,Uphold the perfume of thy throne;
And in the bloom of Love Divine, I taste the joys of Heaven, Mine.

Where are you going?

Meditation on an Inscription in a graveyard:

MY life is but a hyphen,
between two points in time,
Sprung from vast eternity,
Returning to the same.

Lead me oh Holy Spirit
Thy Purity and Love,
My days must fill My members rule
If I'm to dwell above.

Make me to know life's swiftness,
As through this world I flee,
Cause me to use each waking thought
to bend my steps toward Thee.

What can I do this moment,
Thy Glory to Secure
My Saviours praise, My neighbors good
alone these shall endure.

Oh, keep me here from building
Vain castles in this sand,
Help me to spend my failing strength,
on building for That Land.


For what is your life?
It is only a vapor which appears for a short time,
and then vanishes away.
